MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511123194 A) filed by Kcc Institute Of Technology & Management, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'full-extract road membrane air purification system and method.'

Inventor(s) include Pankaj; Hamid; Ankit Yadav; Dr. Mohd Wazih Ahmad; Geetanjali Mittal; Azhar Ahmad Khan; Sarita Singh; Dr. Vaibhav Kumar Agarwal; and Pragati Upadhyay.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to Full-Extract Road Membrane Air Purification System. The system comprises a continuous filtration membrane installed across the full width and length of a roadway, the membrane having a micro-textured upper layer, a conductive backing layer, a structural support layer, and an adhesive interface securing it to the road surface. The system further includes a series of pole-mounted air purifiers positioned along the roadway, each incorporating an air intake, a membrane-based filtration cartridge, a fan assembly, and a clean-air outlet. A drainage-based particulate-removal pathway is provided to channel water carrying captured particulate matter into sealed collector boxes. An integrated network of air-quality sensors monitors pollution parameters along the roadway. The combination of passive road-based filtration, active pole-mounted purification, and sensor-based monitoring enables a continuous infrastructure-integrated solution for managing airborne particulates along urban roads."
