MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014300 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'fruit cutting device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rajeev R Mishra; Dr. Vikesh Kashyap; and Rohit.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A fruit cutting device comprises of a platform 1 incorporating plurality of suctions cups 2 for securely gripping of a fruit, an artificial intelligence based image capturing module 3 installed on the platform 1 to determine position of the fruit, a robotic gripper 4 installed on the platform 1 to place the fruit over a circular plate 5, a touch sensor integrated within the plate 5 for determining placement of the fruit, plurality of suction units 6 installed on the plate 5 for gripping the fruit, a touch interactive display panel 7 mounted on the platform 1 for user input, plurality of telescopic links 8 installed on the platform 1 for positioning a motorized cutter 9, an extendable pointed member 10 installed on the plate 5 for allowing the cutter 9 to cut the slices, and plurality of pneumatic pins installed on the member 10 to separate the slices."
