MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014289 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'fruit collecting and management device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A fruit collecting and management device comprises of an elliptical shaped frame 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a handle 2 installed with the frame 1 via circular plates 3 installed at lateral ends of frame 1 for allowing user to grip the handle 2, an ultrasonic sensor to detect dimensions of fruits, plurality of flexible straps 4 arranged with plates 3 via circular shaped slider to slider and create space for fruit to enter within the frame 1, pair of chambers 5 to store fresh and damaged fruits in segregated manner, a sensing module to detect conditions of the fruits, a telescopic gripping unit 6 to grip and position fruits within designated chambers 5, a water storage unit 7 to store fresh water, an electronically controlled nozzle linked with storage unit 7 to spray water on the fresh fruits for maintaining the freshness of fruits."
