MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631061167 A) filed by Jis College Of Engineering, Kalyani, West Bengal, on May 14, for 'freshwash basket.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a vegetable and fruit washing basket, referred to as the Freshwash Basket, designed to provide efficient cleaning and drainage of vegetables. The basket is made of high-quality water-resistant material and includes a plurality of drain holes positioned at appropriate locations on the base and optionally along the side walls. The basket is configured with a single-layer holding arrangement, ensuring vegetables are evenly spread and fully exposed to water flow during washing. This structure allows uniform circulation of water around and through the vegetables, enabling effective removal of dirt, mud, and residue while simultaneously allowing quick drainage of excess water. The invention provides a hygienic, durable, and time-saving solution suitable for household and commercial kitchen use."
