MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611001744 A) filed by Dr. Usha Sisodia; Ms. Anjali Dubey; Dr. Sally Lukose; and Dr. Baljeet Yadav, Amity University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Jan. 7, for 'forensic entomology larval preservation and inspection unit (felpi) for field evidence collection.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A Forensic Entomology Larval Preservation and Inspection Unit (FELPI) is disclosed as a hand held, chemically resistant device for on scene collection and preservation of insect larvae in forensic investigations. The unit features pre filled, color coded micro vials with one hand spring release access, a recessed magnifying lens with white/UV LED illumination for morphological examination, and thermal buffering for fixative stability. Additional elements include ambient temperature/time logging, QR/NFC tagging for chain of custody, and integrated transfer tools. The invention enhances PMI estimation accuracy, reduces contamination risks, and consolidates field tools into a single pocket carry unit."
