MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511117037 A) filed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Nov. 25, 2025, for 'footwear maintenance device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A footwear maintenance device, comprising a housing 101 having multiple vertically stacked compartments 102 configured to store footwear, an imaging unit 103 mounted on the housing to detect user presence and identify footwear type, an input means 104 consist of a touch interactive display panel for receiving user commands regarding storage of footwear, a motorized flap 105 with wire mesh conveyor belt positioned at the base to receive footwear, a primary wire mesh conveyor belt 106 for receiving footwear from motorized flap 105, a vibrating unit 107 to remove dust, a secondary conveyor belt 109 arranged for vertical movement along the compartments, an articulated arm 111 located within each compartment to position footwear, a humidity sensor for detecting moisture level in the footwear, an air blower 112 mounted on a motorized ball-and-socket joint 114 for controlled drying, a UV sterilization unit 116 configured in a third compartment 117 to sanitize footwear."
