MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007032 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'foot securing pedaling assistive device for bicycles.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Hardeep Singh; Dr. Narinder Kumar; Dheeraj Kumar Gautam; and Gurjesh Singh Chib.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A foot securing pedaling assistive device for bicycles comprises of a platform 1 developed for providing a space for accommodating each foot of a user for pedalling bicycle, pair of motorized sliding unit 2 are configured with platform 1 and mounted with a housing 3 to provide translation to housing 3 in a manner to accommodate front portion of user's foot, artificial intelligence based imaging unit 5 installed on platform 1 for capturing images of user's foot accommodated over platform 1, multiple telescopic rods 6 installed in between housing 3 and sliding unit 2 to position housing 3 over footwear, moisture sensor monitor presence of moisture over foot, air blower 7 blow air over foot to remove moisture, temperature sensor monitor temperature in surroundings of platform 1, electronic nozzle 9 sprays water over foot, angle sensor monitor angle of platform 1."
