MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019831 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 5, for 'food tray partitioning device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Debashis Hota.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A food tray partitioning device comprising a cylindrical member 101 having a plurality of suction cups 102 at a bottom surface of member 101 for affixing member 101 on a food tray, a circular sliding unit 103 disposed along a lateral surface of member 101, plurality of rectangular plates 104 is installed on sliding unit 103 for partitioning tray into different sections, a drawer mechanism configured with each plates 104 for extending or retracting as per dimension of tray, an L-shaped telescopic link 105 attached with an upper surface of member 101 by means of a primary ball and socket joint 106 and provided with a rectangular flap 107 connected by means of a secondary ball and socket joint 108 for even spreading of food poured in sections of tray, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 109, installed on member 101 to determine quantity of food poured in one of sections."
