MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019355 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 4, for 'food item consuming assistive device for child.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Hrushikesh Sarangi.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A food item consuming assistive device for child, comprising a cylindrical body 101 constructed from a first and second semi-cylindrical extendable members having first ends connected with each other, plurality of ultrasonic sensors arranged with members for detecting diameter of bowl, a motorized hinge 102 configured between first ends for tilting members towards each other to position second ends of members, a ring 103 installed with one of members via a telescopically operated link 104 accessed by user to accommodate a straw that is to be utilized by child for consuming food, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 mounted on one of members for detecting position of straw with respect to level of food within body 101, a robotic arm 107 installed with one of members and equipped with a motorized grinder 108 for grinding/cutting solid food item in view of allowing passage of food through straw."
