MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641042716 A) filed by Woxsen University, Hyderabad, Telangana, on April 2, for 'fluid-absorbing csbzc hemostatic bandage.'
Inventor(s) include Bharti; Neetu Talreja; Divya Chauhan; Aashaq Hussain Bhat; and Mohammad Ashfaq.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A fluid-absorbing CSBZC hemostatic bandage comprising, sugarcane bagasse (SB), eggshell (ES)-derived Ca, Zn derived from ZnSO4 and chitosan and a method for synthesizing the bandage including the steps of collecting and separately washing ES and SB with DI water, drying, crushing ES into micron-sized particles, mixing ES powder with GAA and DI water until powder formation, washing and drying, grinding SB into micron-sized particles, heating in DI water, synthesizing CSBZ-biomaterials by dissolving ES powder in HCl and DI water under stirring at 80 C, preparing a homogeneous ZnSO4 solution, adding the ZnSO4 solution and SB to the ES solution under stirring at 80 C to form Ca-Zn-SB mixture with Ca:Zn, adding 6 M NaOH solution drop-wise with stirring to produce CSBZ precipitate, adding varying amounts of CSBZ-biomaterials under stirring to obtain slurry mixtures for CSBZC-0, CSBZC-0.125, CSBZC-0.25 and CSBZC-0.5, cooling onto a petri dish, and drying to produce CSBZC-hemostatic bandages."
