MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020696 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'floor tile maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Mamta Bansal; Rajesh Pandey; Kuldeep Chauhan; and Shikha Chaudhary.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A floor tile maintenance device encompasses a housing 1 positioned on tiled flooring featuring a touch-enabled screen 2 for user input, including maintenance commands like removing broken tiles and choosing tile chip patterns, a camera 3 on housing 1 detects cracked tile locations with multiple motorized omnidirectional wheels 4 underneath enable easy movement, a robotic arm 5 with a motorized cutter 6 removes tiles around cracks based on user-selected patterns, a telescopic gripper 7 transfers removed tiles to an attached container, an electronic nozzle 8 dispenses cement mixture from a vessel as a two-axis motorized lead screw arrangement 10 assist in dispensing the mixture across the tile-removed area, an L-shaped telescopic bar 11 with a plate 12 spreads the cement, a receptacle 13 with tile chips arranges them on the cement following the chosen pattern and electronic valve 14 dispenses epoxy resin from a chamber 15 onto the arranged chips."
