MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006941 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'floor tile laying assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Amanpreet Kaur; Saumya Rajvanshi; Monika Gosain; Krishna; Kashish Gupta; and Dr. Amresh Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A floor tile laying assistive device, comprising a cuboidal shaped hollow body 1 positioned on a ground surface, a touch interactive display panel 2 accessed by user to enter dimension of ground surface upon which tiles are required to be fixed for directing display panel 2 for displaying number of tiles required by user to layover surface, a storage unit 3 storing cement required to be spread over surface, a suction unit 4 draws mixed cement for mixer 6 for transferring and storing mixed cement within storage unit 3, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module 7 determines starting and ending point of surface and actuates multiple motorized omnidirectional wheels 8 for maneuvering and positioning body 1 on starting point of surface, an iris lid 9 dispense mixed cement over surface, a motorized plate 10 translate plate 10 over surface for spreading cement."
