MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541134294 A) filed by S. E. A College Of Engineering & Technology; and Dr. Usha Desai, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'flood detection system with sms alerts.'

The system employs sensors for water level and environmental monitoring, a microcontroller for data processing and decision-making, and an IoT-based communication platform to transmit alerts. Upon detecting flood conditions, the system activates local visual and audible alarms and sends SMS notifications to pre-configured recipients, thereby enabling early warning and effective disaster response."
