MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006913 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'floatable rescue device for water bodies.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Manpreet Kaur; Gunjan Sharma; Jiya Kumar; Vaibhav Mehta; Manisha; and Ayush Gautam.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A floatable rescue device for water bodies, comprises a housing 1 developed to be placed on ground surface, multiple wheels 3 arranged underneath the housing via multiple telescopic rods 2 to maneuver the housing on the surface, optical water level sensor for detecting presence of water in proximity to housing, double rack gear arrangements 4 for deploying multiple motorized propellers 5 to translate the body towards the victim, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 for capturing multiple images of surroundings to detect any victim, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting position of housing in proximity to victim, an electromagnetic spring 7 for throwing a harness 8 connected to a rope coiled on a motorized roller 12, an inflating unit 9 for inflating harness 8, an electric pump 10 for inflating helium into an inflatable tube 11, and an oxygen mask 13 for maintain the oxygen level of victim."
