MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517043586 A) filed by Beijing Yunlijing'An Technology Co. Ltd., Beijing, on May 5, for 'flexible surgical instrument, and flexible instrument and instrument delivery unit thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An instrument delivery unit (11), comprising a housing (111) and an instrument storage device (112), wherein the housing (111) has an internal accommodation space and is provided with an instrument outlet (1113) on a side wall; the instrument storage device (112) is provided with a spiral accommodation groove (11211) on a peripheral surface; the housing (111) comprises a limiting guide portion (1112) and a first transmission thread (1111), and on the basis of the configuration of the limiting guide portion (1112), the housing (111) can axially move and is restricted from circumferential rotation; and correspondingly, the instrument storage device (112) is provided with a second transmission thread (11212) that is in transmission connection with the first transmission thread (1111), and on the basis of a transmission connection relationship, the instrument storage device (112) rotates to drive the housing (111) to axially move. Also provided are a flexible instrument comprising the instrument delivery unit (11), and a flexible surgical instrument. The present application can achieve the continuous delivery of a flexible body of an effector unit, and has a simple structure and low maintenance costs."
