MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311054585 A) filed by Rf Nanocomposite Pvt. Ltd., Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'flame-retardant, hydrophobic, ultrathin, lightweight and flexible emi shielding fabric and sheets for defense, space & industrial applications.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Vishal Kumar Chakradhary; and Swati Gangwar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In the present invention, carbon nanofibers, exfoliated graphite, and silver paste were utilized to fabricate flame-retardant, hydrophobic, ultrathin, lightweight, and flexible electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding fabrics and sheets. These engineered materials exhibit exceptional suitability for military applications, including the development of protective tents designed to safeguard critical equipment. Additionally, their unique combination of mechanical flexibility and EMI shielding efficiency makes them highly applicable in wearable electronics. The developed sheets offer a versatile solution for a range of applications where lightweight and flame-retardant properties are essential, particularly for conformal surface integration."
