The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a flame-responsive automatic shut-off control knob for LPG gas stoves, designed to prevent gas leakage when the flame is extinguished. The system comprises a control knob connected to a gas valve via a shaft, a torsion spring for automatic return, a cam disc with a retention notch, and a heat-responsive locking element positioned near the burner flame. In the presence of flame, the locking element expands and engages with the cam disc, maintaining the knob in the ON position. When the flame is extinguished, the locking element contracts and disengages, allowing the spring to return the knob to the OFF position, thereby stopping gas flow. The invention operates purely mechanically without electrical components and provides a compact, reliable, and cost-effective safety solution."
