MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202424047241 A) filed by Devashish De, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, on June 20, 2024, for 'fire protection suit overall (fps overall).'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "FPS Overall is a multiple piece overlapping leather shelled and blanket/shawl material enveloped suit made with an intent to permit the wearer an escape from strong intensity flames and short circuit sparks in a submarine tunnel fire. It uses a captive oxygen mechanism and uses smoke penetrating rays to help ascertain the escape doors in a well of fire . It could presently be attempted on physically fit men and can later be devised for various body shapes and medical conditions. At the outset the experimental methods are suggested to be adopted for studies using patients with respiratory ailments like the way Israelis do."
