MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006906 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'fire extinguisher maintenance assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Manjit Singh; Gurkirat Singh; and Anuraag Tsewang Namgail.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A fire extinguisher maintenance assistive device, comprising a platform 1 and an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 which determines extinguishing agent within extinguisher along with dimension and cracks, a pair of motorized clamps 5 grip extinguisher, tow robotic links 20 performs welding on crack via electrode 7 and welding arc 8, a touch interactive display panel 9 installed on platform 1 and accessed by user to input type and amount of fire extinguishing agent to be filled, a multi-sectioned chamber 10 stored with various extinguishing agents and each connected with a nozzle 11 via a conduit12, a robotic gripper 13 grips particular nozzle 11 and engage with valve of extinguisher, an iris aperture allows passage of agents within conduit12 in accordance with user-specified amount, followed by actuation of nozzle 11 to transfer agent within fire extinguisher via valve and an electronic spout 18 performs painting on extinguisher."
