MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025525 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'finger nail management device.'

Inventor(s) include Mannat Bains; Amrita Saini; and Rashi Arora.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A finger nail management device comprises of a curved-shaped body 1 developed to be accommodated with a user's finger and connected with an inverted-shaped telescopically operated frame 10, a microphone 2 to give input commands for cutting the user's finger nail, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting thickness of the user's finger, a pair of motorized ball and socket joints 7 for providing suitable multi-directional motion to the member 5 and filer 9 for accurately cutting and filing the user's nail, an electronic nozzle 12 for dispensing the solution for heeling the injury, a tactile sensor for detecting hardness of the nail, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for detecting the user's finger, and an L-shaped telescopically operated link 4 attached with the body 1 and connected with a U-shaped telescopically operated member 5 attached with levers of a nail cutter for cutting the user's nail."
