MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517085102 A) filed by Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, U.S.A., on Sept. 8, for 'filter system having key-fit attachment between holder and filter connector.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A filter system (10) for a machine system includes a filter holder assembly (26) having a filter holder (28), an inner filter connector (30), and an outer filter connector (32). The filter holder includes peripheral surfaces (48, 50) each configured with at least one thread section (52) and at least one slot section (54). The filter system also includes an inner filter (34) attached to the inner filter connector and an outer filter (36) attached to the outer filter connector. Each of the inner filter connector and the outer filter connector includes a peripheral surface (64, 72) configured with at least one thread section (66, 74) and at least one slot section (70, 78) arranged in a key-fit pattern relative to one of the peripheral surfaces of the filter holder. In an example application the concepts may be applied in an intake air system for an engine in an off-highway machine."
