MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421024463 A) filed by Ordnance Factory Chanda, Chandrapur, Maharashtra, on March 27, 2024, for 'filled detonator percussion 135mg lzy assembly for canopy severance system (css) for light combat aircraft and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include R. C. Vishwakarma.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This invention relates to indigenously developed and established Detonator percussion 135mg LZY for Canopy Severance System (CSS) for Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), the filled Detonator percussion 135mg LZY is consist of Aluminium cup, Aluminium foil disc and Aluminium washer, the Aluminium cup filled with layers of explosive pellets of CE granulated 36/100 Type-B to Specn. JSS:1375-01, followed by Lead Azide to Specn. JSS: 1376-09 and then "L" mixture to Specn. IND/ME/1019 (Prov) Type- A filled and pressed in 03 stages and then finally assembled with Aluminium disc and washer and then turn over edges of Detonator cap, as per Ordnance Factory Chanda drawing of filled Detonator percussion 135mg LZY."
