MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517066882 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on July 14, for 'feedstock for direct-reduction iron manufacturing, and manufacturing method therefor.'
Inventor(s) include Nakahara Yoshiko; Ozawa Sumito; and Nouchi Taihei.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a feedstock for direct-reduction iron manufacturing having excellent reduction resistance and powdering resistance. The feedstock for direct-reduction iron manufacturing comprises: a starting material containing iron oxide; and a coating layer containing particles attached to the surface of the starting material. The particles contain at least one selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal hydroxides, and cement. The coverage of the coating layer is 50% or greater, and the standard deviation of the coverage is 15% or less."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 06, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/003839.
