MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511131987 A) filed by Panipat Institute Of Engineering And Technology, Samalkha, Haryana, on Dec. 26, 2025, for 'feedback-controlled osmotic pump tablet with adaptive drug release aperture for personalized dosing.'

Inventor(s) include Prof. Parveen Kumar Goyal; and Dr. Bharat Bhushan.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An osmotic pump tablet with a feedback-controlled aperture for adaptive drug release is disclosed. The tablet comprises a drug core, an osmotic engine, a semi-permeable membrane, and at least one aperture whose effective opening is modulated by a responsive element in real time. A sensing component monitors physiological or environmental parameters such as pH, temperature, osmolarity, enzymatic activity, or local drug concentration, and triggers the modulation element to adjust the aperture size accordingly. This closed-loop feedback system enables dynamic, personalized dosing without external power sources or patient intervention, improving therapeutic efficacy, reducing adverse effects, and maintaining compatibility with conventional oral dosage manufacturing processes."
