MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115675 A) filed by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, Haryana, on Nov. 22, 2025, for 'federated learning-based cybersecurity system for protection of traffic-control infrastructure within smart-city environment.'
Inventor(s) include Ms. Bhawana Srivastava; Dr. Chandni Magoo; and Ms. Nitu Chauhan.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a federated learning-based cybersecurity system for protection of traffic-control infrastructure within a smart-city environment. The system includes a plurality of mounting assemblies configured to mechanically support and retain corresponding edge-sensing devices in predetermined orientations relative to monitored traffic zones. The edge-sensing devices acquire traffic and environmental parameters, perform localized anomaly detection, and generate model-parameter updates and detection summaries. A communication network interconnects the edge-sensing devices with a central coordination server configured to receive and aggregate said updates using privacy-preserving computation, produce global model parameters, redistribute said parameters for synchronized local inference, analyse received detection summaries, and generate cybersecurity directives for adaptive threat mitigation."
