MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511133687 A) filed by Delhi Technological University, New Delhi, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'fault-tolerant soft-switching modular bidirectional dc-dc multiport converter system.'
Inventor(s) include Kumar, Mayank; Kumar, Narendra; and Masoom, Modassir.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a fault-tolerant soft-switching modular bidirectional DC-DC multiport converter system (100) comprising cascaded modular converter modules (a positive input terminal (P) (104), an output terminal (V01) (106), and a battery terminal (Vbat) (108)) interconnected via an interleaved network with phase-shifted operation. The system (100) employs semiconductor switches (S11, S21) (116, 118) integrated with a resonant auxiliary circuit (Lr1, Ca1, Cr1) (120, 122, 124) to achieve near-zero voltage and current switching. A redundant interleaved branch architecture with freewheeling diode elements is overseen by a closed-loop control mechanism, while a time-multiplexed control module employing a microcontroller with dual control loops alternately actuates modes to supply power to the boost and buck output ports, enabling reliable fault tolerance and multiple operating modes for efficient bidirectional energy flow."
