MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611007382 A) filed by Motorama Ev Private Limited, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 25, for 'fault-tolerant motor controller with event recording and controlled degradation.'
Inventor(s) include Abhishek Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a motor-controller apparatus for a brushless DC motor that monitors electrical operating conditions and transitions the motor drive into a controlled reduced-capability mode upon detection of abnormal conditions. The apparatus employs current and voltage sensing to identify fault events, asserts a trip condition through a latch-based decision path, and disables normal switching operation while capturing pre-event and post-event operating data in a rolling memory. Following the trip event, electrical coupling between an inverter and motor terminals is reconfigured to permit continued operation at a constrained level, while a pulse-width modulation limiter restricts applied drive commands. The architecture enables coordinated fault detection, data capture, and controlled mitigation within a single controller, supporting improved robustness, diagnostic visibility, and continuity of operation under adverse electrical conditions."
