MUMBAI, India, Dec. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102288 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 24, for 'fault-tolerant and mobility-aware task offloading and scheduling system (ftm-tosm) for iotenabled logistics entities.'

Inventor(s) include Sanjay Sood; Mohit Prakram; Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh; and Dr. Vishal Sarin.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A Fault-Tolerant and Mobility-Aware Task Offloading and Scheduling system (FTM-TOSM) for IoT-enabled logistics entities, comprises of a mobility awareness module 101 configured to dynamically calculate the Euclidean distance between mobile IoT entities and fog nodes for location-optimized task assignment, a multi-criteria decision-making engine implementing the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to prioritize tasks into low, medium, and high priority levels a fault tolerance module 103 that incorporates dynamic re-clustering techniques to recover from fog node failures during offloading, and a Virtual Machine (VM) selection strategy 104 employing multiple criteria including execution cost, energy consumption, and resource availability to optimize task execution."
