MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019185 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 4, for 'faucet handle operation assistive device for achieving controlled water-flow.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Byomakesh Dash.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A faucet handle operation assistive device for achieving controlled water-flow, comprises of a hollow cylindrical body 101 having multiple plates 102, developed to be configured on a handle portion of a faucet, image capturing module determines dimensions of handle, multiple motorized hinges 104 for properly accommodating handle portion of any possible dimensions, extendable links 201 for establishing firm grip over handle, a microphone 105 for providing voice commands regarding opening/closing of handle to achieve controlled flow of water through the faucet, the links 201 when move in clockwise direction on a motorized slider 202 restricts flow of water from outlet and movement of links 201 in an-anticlockwise direction on slider, telescopically operated rod 106 having sieve plate 107 to extend accordingly for positioning sieve plate 107 on outlet regulate flow of water as well restrict contaminants come out of outlet, and rubberized pads 203 avoids building excessive pressure on handle."
