Inventor(s) include Dr. Umakanta Behera; and Dr. Pratishruti Behera.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Doubling the Farmers income by 2022 was an important vision of Honorable Prime Minister. However, such a vision must motivate the farmer's to-wards entrepreneurship or business mode of farming. Any business or entrepreneurship is possible with the sound or very good business plan. Without any business plan, it is difficult to lead the farmer's towards large-scale business mode/entrepreneurship. There is a thumb rule that 5% of a population has the ability/potential to go for entrepreneurship. In order to promote large scale business by the farmers and empowering of the farmers, an innovative concept/technology developed, known as "Farm Development Card" which is nothing but a customized business plan for an individual farmer based on resource availability at his command, the possession of knowledge/skill of farmer and farmer's market opportunities to achieve his/her target or double the farmers income. FDC also includes soil health card/soil health. Doubling the farmer's income should be accompanied with implementation of Farm Development card, and implementation of soil health card on large scale may be a mis-match."
