MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511114707 A) filed by IIMT College of Engineering, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 20, 2025, for 'fall detection and prevention system and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Basanta Mahato; and Dr. Pankaj Jha.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a fall detection and prevention system (100) comprising: a sensor module (102) configured to sense kinematic data of a user, a processor (104) coupled to the sensor module (102), and configured to: analyse the kinematic data; identify one or more obstacles in real time based on the analysis; classify the one or more obstacles in real time upon identification; monitor gait pattern of the user based on the kinematic data; and an alerting module (106) coupled to the processor (104), and configured to: generate an alerting sound based on the gait pattern of the user such that the alerting sound facilitates to improve the gait of the user."
