MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022626 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 22, 2024, for 'face scrubbing assistive device for parkinson's disorder.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A face scrubbing assistive device for Parkinson's disorder, comprising a rectangular body 1 configured with a motorized chuck 2 accommodates an auxiliary body 1 scrubber to be utilized by a user having Parkinson's disorder, a strap 3 to hold body 1 with user's arm that is detected by a touch sensor, a laser acuity sensor detects dimensions of user's arm, a motorized roller 4 rotates for wrapping strap 3 for securing strap 3 around user's arm, a microphone 6 receives user's command for securing scrubber with chuck 2, an ultrasonic sensor detects dimensions of scrubber accordingly chuck 2 closes for gripping scrubber, a speaker 7 notifies user to lift arm for maneuvering scrubber in contact with face for scrubbing face, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit detects shape of user's face, and a motorized ball and socket joint orients scrubber accordingly."
