MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006593 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'face mask adjustment device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rupinder Kaur Sodhi; Dr. Deepika Sharma; and Mandeep Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A face mask adjustment device comprises of a pair of U-shaped bodies 1, associated with device, an ultrasonic sensor positioned on bodies 1 for detecting thickness of temples, a set of extendable plates 2 installed with bodies 1 to extend/retract for securing temples between plates 2, an L-shaped rod 3 installed with bodies 1 and equipped with miniaturized suction cup 4 for preventing any chances of falling of bodies 1 from temples, a curved-shaped member 5 attached with bodies 1 via a link and carved with groove developed to be engaged with earloops of facemask worn by user and grooves prevent slippage of earloops from members 5, a particulate matter sensor positioned on bodies 1 for detecting level of particulate matter in surroundings and a GPS module mapped on bodies 1 for fetching location of user."
