MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511103406 A) filed by Chitkara University; and Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation, Rajpura, Punjab, on Oct. 27, 2025, for 'eyewear cleaning system and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Varun Verma; and Dr. Rupinder Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An eyewear cleaning system and method thereof comprising an optical sensing installed on a rim of an eyewear, an emitter 101 emitting electromagnetic waves over the lenses of the eyewear, a detector 102 to receive electromagnetic rays scattered from the water droplets, a fluid jet unit installed within the rim of the eyewear to direct a fluid jet over the detected water droplet to remove the water droplets from the lenses, a control unit to actuate the subcomponents during operation. A method for cleaning the lenses of an eyewear comprising the steps of actuating an emitter 101 to send electromagnetic rays at the lenses, receiving the scattered rays at a detector 102, establishing a baseline moisture level as per signal strength received from the detector 102, detecting water droplets based on signal changes, clearing the droplets from the lenses."
