MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441007331 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'eyewear-based eating assistive system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Suresh Kalam.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an eyewear-based eating assistive system, comprising a spectacle 1 equipped with glasses developed to be worn by user on eye, an elongated cavity 2 engraved on each temple of spectacles 1 for encasing chopstick, a button 3 installed on temples that is accessed by user for activating a storage/usage mode of chopstick, an electromagnetically powered spring 4 installed on extreme end of cavities 2 and attached with a ball bearing 5 for adhering chopstick, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 installed on spectacles 1 for detecting kind of food consumed by user, a temperature sensor installed on tip of chopstick for determine food temperature grabbed by user via chopstick, and an odor sensor installed on chopstick for detecting odor of grabbed food item."
