MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527089845 A) filed by Cataler Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on Sept. 20, for 'exhaust gas purification catalyst.'

Inventor(s) include Fujita, Nozomi; Onoe, Ryota; Takasu, Ryosuke; Shirayama, Yodai; and Ito, Masaya.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An exhaust gas purification catalyst disclosed herein comprises: a substrate 10 that has a plurality of cells 12 and a partition wall 14 partitioning the plurality of cells 12; and a catalyst layer 20 provided on the surface of the partition wall 14. The catalyst layer 20 includes a lower catalyst layer 22 and an upper catalyst layer 24. Moreover, the lower catalyst layer 22 is provided with a lower front part A containing Pd on the upstream side thereof and a lower rear part B containing at least one among Pd and Pt on the downstream side thereof. Further, the upper catalyst layer 24 is provided with an upper front part C containing Rh on the upstream side thereof and an upper rear part D containing Rh on the downstream side thereof. Furthermore, the lower front part A, the lower rear part B, the upper front part C, and the upper rear part D have individually set CeO2 contents. Consequently, it is possible to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst that can exhibit appropriate purification performance according to an operation state of an internal combustion engine."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 11, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/044136.
