MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527089483 A) filed by Cataler Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on Sept. 19, for 'exhaust gas purification catalyst.'
Inventor(s) include Ito, Masaya; Onoe, Ryota; Fujita, Nozomi; Takasu, Ryosuke; Shirayama, Yodai; and Onohara, Yu.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An exhaust gas purification catalyst disclosed in the present invention comprises a catalyst layer 20 having a lower-layer catalyst layer 22 and an upper-layer catalyst layer 24. A lower-layer front part A that contains Pd is provided to the upstream side of the lower-layer catalyst layer 22, and a lower-layer rear part B that contains at least one of Pd and Pt is provided to the downstream side of the lower-layer catalyst layer 22. An upper-layer front part C that contains Rh is provided to the upstream side of the upper-layer catalyst layer 24, and an upper-layer rear part D that contains Rh is provided to the downstream side of the upper-layer catalyst layer 24. The CeO2 content of each of the lower-layer front part A, the lower-layer rear part B, the upper-layer front part C, and the upper-layer rear part D is individually set. From the standpoint of achieving both three-way performance and NOX absorption capabilities, an NOX absorption layer 30 that contains an NOX-absorbing material and Pt is formed in the exhaust gas purification catalyst on the side closer to a partition wall 14 than the upper-layer catalyst layer 24. This makes it possible to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst that is capable of exhibiting suitable purification performance in accordance with the operating status of an internal combustion engine."
The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 11, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/044138.
