MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527089482 A) filed by Cataler Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on Sept. 19, for 'exhaust gas purification catalyst.'

Inventor(s) include Takasu, Ryosuke; Onoe, Ryota; Fujita, Nozomi; Shirayama, Yodai; and Ito, Masaya.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An exhaust gas purification catalyst disclosed herein comprises: a base 10 having a plurality of cells 12 and partition walls 14 separating the plurality of cells 12; and a catalyst layer 20 disposed on the surfaces of the partition walls 14. The catalyst layer 20 comprises a lower catalyst layer 22 and an upper catalyst layer 24. A lower-layer front portion A containing Pd is disposed on the upstream side of the lower catalyst layer 22, and a lower-layer rear portion B containing at least one of Pd and Pt is disposed on the downstream side of the lower catalyst layer 22. An Rh-containing upper-layer front portion C is disposed on the upstream side of the upper catalyst layer 24, and an Rh-containing upper-layer rear portion D is disposed on the downstream side of the upper catalyst layer 24. In the lower-layer front portion A, the lower-layer rear portion B, the upper-layer front portion C, and the upper-layer rear portion D, the CeO2 contents therein are set respectively. A support material contained in the upper catalyst layer has a volume-average particle diameter D50CD, as determined through the observation with an electron microscope, of 2-5 m inclusive. It is thus possible to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst which can exhibit adequate purification performance depending on the working condition of an internal combustion engine."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 11, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/044139.
