MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541125167 A) filed by Dr. Mohana Gopiraj N, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'evaporative cooling brick wall system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Mohana Gopiraj N.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a burnt clay brick of standard modular dimensions designed to facilitate evaporative cooling within building walls. Each brick incorporates an internal cavity or channel for water circulation, inspired by the cooling principle of water-filled clay pots, which utilize minute pores for evaporation. When assembled into walls and interconnected via a network of PVC pipes and connectors, water is distributed sequentially through each brick. The porous clay structure enables evaporation, absorbing heat and lowering indoor temperatures without mechanical refrigeration. This passive cooling system is particularly effective in hot-dry and warm-humid climatic zones, offering a sustainable and energy-efficient alternative to conventional cooling methods."
