MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541084714 A) filed by Dr. K. Geetha; and Mrs. R. Rajalakshmi, Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, on Sept. 6, 2025, for 'evaluation of therapeutically potential of bio-resources from marine samples.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. K. Geetha; and Mrs. R. Rajalakshmi.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is an evaluation of therapeutically potential of bio-resources from marine samples. High-throughput cultivation works by simulating natural processes and it gets rid of undesirable, rapidly expanding bacteria and makes room for uncommon, delicate actinomycetes. To isolate actinomycetes using marine sponge along with sediment samples, this review thoroughly examines both conventional and novel methods and approaches, Thiruchendur sea water specimens from Tamil Nadu were used to isolate active marine actinimycetes in this research. A using colony morphology, culture traits, mycelial traits, and physiological characterization, the specimens collected have been repeatedly diluted to identify the active organism and a seven unique actinomycetes were pulled out of the water samples. A molecular characterization, antimicrobial sensitivity testing, and crude compound extraction were some of the subsequent analyses that made use of the strains thereby, a seven unique actinomycetes were pulled out of the water samples."
