MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441074494 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on Oct. 2, 2024, for 'error handling for location reporting over the user plane.'
Inventor(s) include Rajesh Babu Natarajan; and Karim Morsy.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Error Handling for Location Reporting Over the User Plane Multiple sets of examples are provided for validating user plane address information provided by an AF either at an NEF or a GMLC and to address user plane address information that is invalid. This may ensure the address information is mapped or within a range/domain of an authorized AF. Based on the validation failing, the error is indicated to another network element such as the AF. In case the UE fails to establish a secure connection for a user plane path, this error is indicated to other network element(s) such as AF. This may be performed via control plane signaling. For these errors, corrective action may be taken, such as in a subsequent request based on error information."
