MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511113244 A) filed by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 18, 2025, for 'ergonomic cervical support apparatus for dental chairs.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Preeti Mishra; Dr. Shravan S Rathi; and Dr. Ruchika Pandey.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An ergonomic neck support for dental chairs designed to improve comfort for patients and assists in keeping their cervical spine in proper alignment while the dentist performs treatment. The device is a cushioned contour support which accommodates the neck in its natural curvature and is surrounded by a biocompatible, washable cover, and has adjustable straps to secure it to the headrest. An optional inflatable/adjustable or comfort module for personal support is provided. The neck support decreases strain by keeping it in a stable position, thereby enhancing patients experience, minimizes muscular fatigue and improves procedural efficacy in dentistry."
