MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421034601 A) filed by Kec International Limited, Maharashtra, on May 1, for 'environmentally-friendly electric cable.'

Inventor(s) include Anjan Banerjee; Sachin Nalawade; Pranoy Mondal; Kaibalya Khuntia; and Prince Jain.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments herein provide an environmentally-friendly electric cable (1) including a conductor layer (2), an insulation layer (3) surrounded over the conductor layer (2), a protective layer (4) surrounded over the insulation layer (3), an inner sheath layer (5) surrounded over the insulation layer (3), an armor layer (6) surrounded over the inner sheath layer (5), and an outer sheath layer (7) 10 surrounded over the inner sheath layer (5). The insulation layer (3) is made of an environment-friendly Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation material. The inner sheath layer (5) is made of an environment-friendly PVC sheathing material. The outer sheath layer (7) is made of the environment-friendly PVC sheathing material, and wherein the environment-friendly PVC sheathing material is a RoHS and 15 REACH complaint."
