MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541121575 A) filed by Nift-Tea College Of Knitwear Fashion, Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'enhancing napkin incinerator with activated carbon filter.'

Inventor(s) include D. Chandrakantham; J. Aashiqah; M. Sugirthi; and K. Brindha.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an incinerator specifically designed for the safe and environmentally responsible disposal of sanitary napkins and similar absorbent waste. The system comprises a primary combustion chamber for controlled burning of the waste, a secondary afterburner chamber for high-temperature oxidation of unburned gases, and a particulate filtration unit for capturing ash and fine particulates. Downstream ot these combustion stages, an activated carbon adsorption module is provided to remove volatile organic compounds, odour-causing gases, and hazardous pollutants from the exhaust stream. The incinerator further includes an induced-draft airflow system and an electronic control unit for regulating temperature, airflow, and pressure drop, ensuring complete combustion and minimized emissions. By integrating thermal oxidation with activated-carbon filtration, the invention significantly reduces air pollution and odour, providing a compact, efficient, and low-emission solution for sanitary napkin waste disposal in households, clinics, schools, and community facilities."
