MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647024791 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on March 2, for 'enhancements for l1 measurements/reporting and beam switching for target cells with carrier aggregation.'
Inventor(s) include Selvaganapathy, Srinivasan; Goyal, Sanjay; Karabulut, Umur; Gupta, Rupali; and Koskela, Timo.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The embodiments disclose a method for measurement and reporting enhancements for lower layer triggered mobility (LTM) scenarios with carrier aggregation. A user equipment (UE) receives configuration information from a source distributed unit (DU), based on which the UE is configured to perform layer 1(E1) measurement of a secondary cell (SCell) among one or more candidate cell groups. Based on the measurement of the SCell, the source DU transmits a LTM switching command to the UE so that the UE switches to the beams of the SCell. Prior to switching to the beams of the SCell, the UE receives a Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) activating the transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state of the SCell."
The patent application was internationally filed on July 23, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/070799.
