MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441037671 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore, Karnataka, on May 14, 2024, for 'engine thrust mount with integrated sliding system and load isolation mechanism.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to improvements in thrust mounts and has particular reference to thrust mounts of ground test facilities. Generally, engines are mounted on aircrafts based on a predefined direction of engine approach to the aircraft. Hence, the vicinity of the engine thrust pin along the direction of approach will be free of obstacles. The invention caters to mount engines approaching the test facility mount in a direction opposite to that as done on an aircraft. The present invention discloses an engine thrust mount (100) with sideways sliding system (130) to clear the mount of the obstacles along the direction of approach. The invention also aids in accurately aligning the mount with the engine thrust pin (190). In addition, the present invention discloses the features that are incorporated to isolate engine load path from the sliding system."
