MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202537079998 A) filed by Westinghouse Electric Company Llc, Cranberry, U.S.A., on Aug. 22, for 'energy storage system for nuclear reactor remote installation.'

Inventor(s) include Sweat, Scott M.; and Ezelarab, Ibrahim.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a nuclear reactor system for use with a power grid. The nuclear reactor system comprising a nuclear reactor (100), an energy storage system (300) coupled to the nuclear reactor, and a control circuit (400) coupled to the nuclear reactor and the energy storage system. The control circuit is configured to monitor a power demand of the power grid (500), monitor a power output generated from the nuclear reactor, detect a change in the power demand, cause the energy storage system to temporarily compensate for the change in the power demand, and adjust the power output based on the change in the power demand."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 24, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/012801.
