MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202321088073 A) filed by Tata Motors Limited, Maharashtra, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'energy recovery-based cooling system for a reefer vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Rajeev Dave; Prerna Phukan; and Prakhar Yadav.
The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) and method (700) for energy recovery-based cooling of a reefer vehicle is disclosed. The system (100) includes a vehicular refrigerated container (102). The system (100) further includes a heat exchanger (202) within the vehicular refrigerated container (102) to manage heat duty. The system (100) includes a duct (104) installed on a roof of the vehicular refrigerated container (102), creating an air gap to allow passage of a cryogen gas. The system (100) further includes a pipe (208) with an opening in the duct (104), connected to the outlet of the heat exchanger (202). The system (100) includes a controller to operate one or more of the first flow control valve and the second flow control valve to control a flow of the cryogen gas through the duct (104) based on a temperature requirement of the vehicular refrigerated container (102) and the duct (104)."
