MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122880 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Madras; and Jouleshift Llp, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'energy optimization in refrigeration systems.'

Inventor(s) include Seshadri, Satyanarayanan; Kaneria, Pradyum; and Saketh, Kadali Krishna.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A heat removal device (110) for a refrigeration system (100) is disclosed. The heat removal device (110) includes a heat sink assembly (200) with 5 a first plate (206) and a second plate (208) that couple to form a hollow sleeve (210). The sleeve defines a cavity (212) that receives a portion of a discharge line (108) and contains a phase change material. One or more heat pipes (202) are thermally coupled to the heat sink assembly (200). The heat removal device (110) includes a plurality of fins (204) that reject 10 heat to an external environment (114). The refrigeration system (100) includes a compressor (106), a condenser (112), an insulated compartment (102), a temperature sensor (120) in a propylene glycol solution, and a temperature controller (122). The temperature controller (122) operates the compressor (106) using data from the sensor (120) to 15 improve pull down and reduce energy consumption."
