Inventor(s) include Mr. Shubham Tiwary; Dr. D. Murali; Mr. Aakarshan Pratik Chaurishi; Dr. Ch. Vinay Kumar; Dr. Veeresha Kallaganguru Basavarajappa; Dr. Ramesh Babu Yathirajula; Dr. Smruti Ranjan Nayak; Mr. Oinam Manganleiba Meetei; and Mr. Kandi Bhanu Prakash.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a smart hybrid power system for water pumping applications using integrated renewable and conventional energy sources. The system comprises a solar photovoltaic unit, wind energy generation unit, battery storage system, util ity grid supply, and optional backup generator connected through a common DC link architecture. Power from the available sources is processed through rectification, conversion, and intelligent control circuits to provide a stable power supply for continuou s pumping operation under varying environmental and load conditions. A sliding mode controlled boost converter is employed to maintain constant DC link voltage, and a three phase inverter converts the regulated DC power into AC power for driving an inducti on motor coupled to a water pump. The motor is operated using a sensorless direct torque control technique integrated with a Takagi Sugeno fuzzy logic controller, thereby eliminating the need for physical speed sensors while reducing torque ripple, vibrati on, and energy losses. The battery storage unit charges during surplus renewable generation and discharges during low generation or outage conditions. The invention significantly reduces dependency on diesel fuel, lowers operating costs, improves system ef ficiency, and ensures uninterrupted water pumping performance. The system is particularly suitable for agricultural irrigation, aquaculture farms, domestic water supply, and industrial fluid transfer applications."
